About us — Legal Remedy Centre
About us: we believe access to justice shouldn't depend on the size of your bank account. Legal Remedy Centre was founded to make quality legal help accessible to everyone.
Our mission
Legal Remedy Centre was founded on a straightforward belief: everyone deserves access to quality legal help, not just those who can afford traditional solicitor rates of £200–£400 an hour.
We've built a different model. By focusing on the legal issues that affect everyday life — employment problems, housing disputes, family matters, immigration, benefits — and combining qualified solicitors with modern technology, we're able to deliver professional legal help at a fraction of the usual cost.
We don't cut corners on quality. Every case is handled by a qualified solicitor who is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. What we cut is the overhead — the expensive city-centre offices, the inflated billing rates, the unnecessary complexity.
Our four-step process is designed around you: tell us your situation, we review it, agree fees upfront, and handle your case with regular updates through your client portal.
Qualified solicitors, always
Every case is handled by an SRA-regulated solicitor. Not a paralegal, not an AI, not a trainee acting unsupervised.
Reduced fees, explained
We charge significantly less than high-street firms by operating efficiently and focusing on specific practice areas. We tell you the cost before we start.
Plain English, always
We communicate in the same language you use. If something is complicated, we explain it clearly rather than hiding behind jargon.
Transparent throughout
Your client portal shows you exactly where your case is, what's been done, and what's coming next. No chasing. No uncertainty.
Who we help
We work with individuals and families across the UK who need practical legal support without prohibitive costs. Our clients come to us for employment disputes, eviction and housing problems, divorce and child arrangements, debt and consumer complaints, visa and immigration issues, benefits appeals, neighbour disputes, and discrimination claims.
Whether you are facing an unfair dismissal, a section 21 notice from your landlord, a difficult separation, or a refused visa application, we start by listening. You can tell us about your situation online or contact us with questions first. Browse our legal advice blog for plain-English guides on common issues.
Our team and approach
Behind Legal Remedy Centre is a team of solicitors, support staff, and technologists who share one goal: remove the barriers that stop ordinary people getting legal help. We invest in secure client portals, document management, and plain-English communication because those tools let solicitors spend more time on your case and less on paperwork.
We are transparent about what we can and cannot do. If your matter needs a barrister, court representation in a distant jurisdiction, or a specialist outside our practice areas, we will say so early and help you find the right next step where we can.
Our values in practice
Accessibility
Legal help should not be a luxury. We keep fees transparent and processes simple so more people can get the support they need.
Integrity
We give honest advice — including telling you when we are not the right firm, or when a matter may not justify legal action.
Empathy
Legal problems are often stressful and personal. We treat every client with respect and explain options without pressure.
Excellence
Reduced fees do not mean reduced standards. Our solicitors maintain the same professional obligations as any high-street firm.
SRA regulation
Legal Remedy Centre is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Our SRA ID is 811849. You can verify our status on the SRA's online register.
All solicitors working on your behalf hold a current practising certificate issued by the SRA and are subject to the SRA Standards and Regulations. If you ever have a concern about the conduct of a solicitor, you have the right to complain — first to us, and then to the Legal Ombudsman if the matter is not resolved.
Frequently asked questions about us
When was Legal Remedy Centre founded?
We were established to address a gap in the market: people with genuine legal problems who could not afford traditional solicitor rates but deserved professional representation. Our model combines technology with qualified solicitors to reduce overhead and pass savings to clients.
Where are you based?
We serve clients across England and Wales. Our technology-first approach means you can access our services remotely, with secure document upload and messaging through your client portal.
How are you different from a law centre or Citizens Advice?
We are a private law firm offering paid legal services at reduced rates. Unlike general advice services, we can represent you formally once instructed — drafting letters, negotiating, and conducting litigation where needed.
Do you offer legal aid?
We do not currently offer legal aid-funded work. However, our reduced-fee model is designed to be affordable for people who do not qualify for legal aid. We will always discuss fees transparently before you commit.
