Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website at https://legalremedycentre.org.uk and the legal services provided by Legal Remedy Centre C.I.C. ("LRC", "we", "us"). By using our website or instructing us, you agree to these Terms.
Acceptance
By accessing our website, submitting an enquiry, or signing a client care letter, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Orders
An enquiry through our website does not create a solicitor–client relationship. A binding retainer begins only when you sign our client care letter and we confirm acceptance of your instructions. We reserve the right to decline work that falls outside our expertise or conflicts with our professional obligations.
Delivery Fulfilment
We will deliver legal services with reasonable skill and care, in accordance with SRA Standards and Regulations. Timelines depend on the nature of your matter; we will keep you informed of progress through your client portal and direct communication.
Fees and payment
Fees are agreed in writing before work begins, typically as fixed fees. You are responsible for paying invoices by the due date. Late payment may result in suspension of work. Disbursements (court fees, barristers, etc.) are charged separately where applicable.
Returns Refunds
Legal services are bespoke and not returnable in the conventional sense. If you cancel instructions before work has commenced, any advance payment will be refunded minus reasonable administrative costs. If work has started, fees for completed work remain payable. Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid for the matter in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Warranties
We do not guarantee a particular outcome in any legal matter. Advice is based on the facts known at the time and applicable law, which may change. We warrant that services will be provided with reasonable skill and care by qualified solicitors.
Intellectual Property
Website content, branding, and materials we produce for you remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed. You may use documents we prepare for the purpose of your legal matter. You may not reproduce website content for commercial purposes without written consent.
Website use
You must not misuse our website, attempt unauthorised access, or submit false information. Content is for general information only and does not constitute legal advice until a solicitor–client relationship exists.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us at info@legalremedycentre.org.uk. If unresolved, you may refer the matter to the Legal Ombudsman.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to your statutory rights.
